Abstract: Hydrogels are crosslinked polymer chains having three-dimensional (3D) network and have a considerable fluid-absorbing capacity. They are similar to biological tissues due to their porosity, soft structure and high-water content. Hydrogel wound healing patches have revolutionised the healing process making it easier for patients to recover faster. They minimize the chances of infection in the wound. The vast variety of antimicrobial agents that can be added make this form of patches all the more useful. This article highlights the various technical approaches for patch wound healing process.
