Abstract: Involuntary synchronous contractions of the diaphragm and intercostal muscles that result in abrupt Curcumin, a polyphenolic compound extracted from Curcuma longa, exhibits a wide range of therapeutic benefits, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer properties. However, its clinical applications are limited due to its poor aqueous solubility and low bioavailability. Self-nanoemulsifying drug delivery systems (SNEDDS) have emerged as a promising approach to enhance the solubility and absorption of lipophilic drugs. This study explores the formulation, characterization, and in vitro evaluation of a curcumin-loaded SNEDDS to improve its solubility and bioavailability. The optimized SNEDDS formulation was developed using various oils, surfactants, and co-surfactants, followed by characterization using droplet size analysis, polydispersity index (PDI), zeta potential, and in vitro dissolution studies. The results demonstrated a significant enhancement in the solubility and dissolution rate of curcumin, making SNEDDS a viable strategy for improving its therapeutic potential.
