Abstract: Epidermal keratinocyte hyperproliferation marks the autoimmune, inflammatory skin disease known as psoriasis. Psoriasis is a common chronic papulosquamous skin disorder that can affect individuals and society at large by way of a significant negative burden across all ages. It is associated with several severe diseases such as cardiometabolic disease, psoriatic arthritis and dementia. Plaque psoriasis is the most common form of this condition. The majority of instances of psoriasis are chronic plaque. The scalp, genitalia, nails, and the longest regions of the limbs tend to get impacted. Topical therapies remain the first-line treatment in cases of mild psoriasis, including topical corticosteroids, vitamin D analogs, calcineurin inhibitors, and keratolytics. With changes in natural and immune responses and activation of the TNF-α-IL-23-Th17 inflammatory process, the disease has an immunological basis.Herbal formulations include aloe vera, turmeric, neem, and chamomile including bioactive compounds such curcumin and nimbin showing anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulating effects, so reducing the symptoms of psoriasis by influencing immune response and ameliorating skin condition. With most effective pharmaceuticals being liposomes, niosomes, and polymeric nanoparticles introducing drugs through nanotechnology, one of the recent advancements in psoriasis treatment is the augmentation of traditional herbal and pharmacological therapies. By facilitating extended release and lowering systemic side effects, nanocarriers aid to improve drug penetration.Research studies are underway on further novel medicines in the hope to keep the ailment under safe, long-term control.
