Abstract: This study compares the efficiency of two common extraction techniques-Soxhlet Extraction (SE) and Microwave-Assisted Extraction (MAE)-for obtaining essential oil from Eucalyptus tereticornis leaves. The primary objectives include evaluating the impact of both methods on the yield of essential oil, optimizing extraction parameters, and assessing their environmental sustainability. The findings demonstrate that MAE produces higher yields in a shorter time frame with significantly reduced solvent consumption compared to SE. Additionally, MAE presents a more environmentally friendly alternative by using less energy and minimizing solvent usage. This research emphasizes the potential of MAE as a sustainable, efficient method for the extraction of Eucalyptus essential oil.
